OK, here’s where we pop the bubble and explode the myth. Yes, anyone can run and manage their own website with little to no technical experience. Sure, you need to be able to use a computer at a basic level and be at least a little web savvy, but anything on top of that is just a bonus.

We are going to lead you from the very start where you begin planning your site, right through to the end where you are proudly showing off your new portal to the rest of the world. Not once will you have to do any programming, we promise!

To achieve this wonderful feat we are going to need a couple of necessary tools and assume a few basic facts – these being.

  1. You have a computer connected to the internet (since you are reading this, we appear to have taken care of this first point).
  2. You have a very basic understanding of the web (you know how to click around a web site and how to use Google to search for things)
  3. You have the will to learn and are not afraid of new challenges (core, who do I think I am? You revel new challenges and are going to steam through this guide!)
